In 1946, the National Government of the Republic of China established Taiwan Provincial Teachers College (1946\u20131955), which shared its campus and facilities with Taipei High School, and founded its Crafts and Drawing Department. In 1949, the department was reformed into the Department of Arts, and in 1967, its status was promoted to become the NTNU Department of Fine Arts. A retrospect of NTNU\u2019s history indicates that it could be considered Taiwan\u2019s origin of higher education in arts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/h4><h4>This year (2022) marks NTNU\u2019s Centennial Celebration. A hundred alumni have been invited to celebrate with us by presenting a hundred art pieces to illustrate their alma mater\u2019s centennial elegance. The alumni featured in this exhibition include not only professional artists but also art teachers who inspire the younger generation within the education system, professors and scholars working in domestic and foreign universities, supervisors in relevant public and private institutions, and art administration and management personnel who serve in museums and galleries.\u00a0 While contributing to various fields through their expertise, NTNU alumni do not forsake their aspiration and passion for creation. In 1948, it was reformed into the Department of Arts, which later became the NTNU Department of Fine Arts. In the mid to late 1950s, a trend of pursuing modernization emerged in Taiwanese art. Amid changes in the cultural environment, an era of division of labor based on specialization arrived. In 1972, the Department of Fine Arts underwent a curriculum reform, dividing third- and fourth-year students into three groups, namely traditional Chinese painting, Western painting, and design. However, art in Taiwan was greatly influenced by Western thoughts, and numerous art groups promoted modern arts trends. Many graduates of the Department of Fine Arts pursue further education abroad and then returned to Taiwan to serve as arts teachers in schools of all levels. This has paved the foundation for the centennial legacy of Taiwanese
