Willows swaying, lotuses blooming, and ripples shimmering\u2014once upon a time, the serene Cheng Creek flowed gently through the campus of NTNU, gracefully extending from the Second Branch of the Wulixue Canal. Though the waterway has disappeared, its presence lingers like fragments of a cherished memory. The Guting area, home to the NTNU Art Museum, was once shaped by agriculture, with irrigation systems not only nourishing the fields but also weaving themselves into the very fabric of the city. Wandering through its winding alleys, uncovering traces of what once was, one can\u2019t help but wonder: do the gentle whispers of flowing water still echo in our daily lives?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project links the historical evolution of Taipei\u2019s irrigation canals with personal, intimate memories of home. Through the traditional garden philosophy of Li Shui<\/em>\u2014the art of harmonizing with natural water flows\u2014we explore the dynamic relationship between people, place, and the heritage of water. In the summer of 2025, the museum will launch a series of workshops and guided walks, starting from the campus and expanding into the surrounding community. Researchers, artists, and local residents will come together to gather stories and express their visions, blending memory with creativity to nurture the land we all live in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
