In the period of the Taiwan Provincial Teachers College, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) has been collecting the artworks created on campus by its alumni and teachers since 1947. After the establishment of the NTNU Art Museum in the 21st century, its purpose expanded beyond exhibiting and curating collected artworks. In addition to interpreting the unique meanings of these works in the context of their times, the NTNU Art Museum aims to foster resonance and evoke emotional responses from viewers through contemporary methods.
Transformation of Arts + is an experiment involving the digitalization of the museum’s art collection. On the basis of interdisciplinary cooperation between the museum and the students and teachers from the College of Interdisciplinary Industry Academia Innovation, College of Technology and Engineering, and College of Arts, and with the support of the Foresight Display Technology Introduced into Establishment of Art Venue and Promotion Program promoted by the Ministry of Education, an immersive art experience activity was organized. We look forward to exploring new possibilities for creating a metaverse art museum that lies at the intersection of art appreciation and data calculation.
